In May 2009, the Right From The Start Project (RFTS) celebrated 20 years of providing professional targeted case management to West Virginia Families. RFTS provides in-home care coordination services to high risk, low income pregnant women through the second postpartum month and Medicaid eligible high risk infants through one year of age. A Statewide training and 20 year anniversary celebration for RFTS providers, registered nurses and licensed social workers, was held May 19-20, 2009 in Charleston at the Embassy Suites. The event began with the presentation of a Proclamation signed by West Virginia Governor, Joe Manchin, declaring May 2009 as RFTS Month. The event also honored fallen colleague, Brenda Yeager, LSW who provided RFTS targeted case management services for 14 years through First Care Services, Ridgeview, West Virginia. The Right From The Start Project may be able to help you in the following ways:

	Obtain Medicaid coverage for your pregnancy and your new baby.
	Arrange to get care for yourself and your baby.
	Access medical care if you are uninsured or have limited benefits and are not eligible for Medicaid but meet other necessary requirements.
	Locate other valuable services besides your medical care. These include:

• Accessing Childbirth classes

• Accessing Parenting classes

• Arranging transportation to medical appointments

• Assistance in quitting smoking

• Guidance with eating healthier for you and your baby
